2024 Schedule of Open Houses Our museum is open to the public the first Sunday of each month from 1 pm to 4 pm unless otherwise noted.  Admission is free but donations are welcome and appreciated. 

  • Sunday, December 1st - Stop by for our final Open House of the year to view our collections and holiday decorations and interact with volunteers of the Dallastown Historical Society. Our special holiday feature is Nutcrackers: Learn their history, view fifteen nutcrackers from the collection of Rod Stump, and play a scavenger hunt designed for the young and young at heart.

2024 Past Open Houses 

  • Sunday, February 4th - Stop by to visit our collections and interact with volunteers of the Dallastown Historical Society.
  • Sunday, March 3rd Tribute to St Paul's UCC Dallastown - At 1:30, current Pastor Chris Rodkey will share the history of the church. Updated displays featuring items donated upon the sale of St Pauls as well as from other Dallastown churches will be unveiled during our 1 to 4 pm Open House
  • Sunday, April 7th - Stop by to visit our collections and interact with volunteers of the Dallastown Historical Society.
  • Sunday, May 5th - Stop by to visit our collections and interact with volunteers of the Dallastown Historical Society.
  • Sunday, June 2nd Founding Families of Dallastown - Get to know some of the first families to settle in Dallastown through stories and articles found in our museum during our 1 to 4 pm Open House
  • Sunday, July 7th - Stop by to visit our collections and interact with volunteers of the Dallastown Historical Society.
  • Sunday, August 4th History of Dallastown Schools - Hours are 1 to 4 pm, but join us at 1:30 for a trivia contest, talk by former Dallastown High School Principal George Jones, and an overview of Dallastown school related items in our collections. A time for questions and reminiscing will follow.
  • Sunday, September 1st Labor Day Weekend -  Always observed on the first Monday in September, Labor Day celebrates and honors the contribution of the American system of organized labor and workers to the prosperity and economic strength of the nation. The Monday of Labor Day along with the Saturday and Sunday preceding it is known as the Labor Day Weekend and is traditionally considered the end of summer.
  • Sunday, October 6th Dallastown Grocery Stores - Speaker at 1:30 pm with Walking Tour Maps available as phone app or paper map during our 1 to 4 pm Open House. (The speaker and map distribution take place Rain or Shine. In the event of inclement weather, enjoy the walk another day.)
  • Saturday, November 2nd Christmas in Dallastown - Nutcrackers are our featured decoration this year. Learn about the history of nutcrackers and view over a dozen Santa and soldier nutcrackers from the private collection of our board member, Rodney Stump. A nutcracker scavenger hunt is available for the young and young-at-heart.  Enjoy our holiday decorations and cookies while shopping for Dallastown memorabilia from 9 am to 3 pm
  • Sunday, November 3rd - Stop by to view our collections and holiday decorations and interact with volunteers of the Dallastown Historical Society.

Dallastown Collectible Cutouts Walking Tour At each stop on the 1/2 mile walk, view the building and read the history of the eight featured buildings which match cutouts available for sale through the Dallastown Historical Society. Our September 1 Open House was the last day for the tour.
